Date and Time: Tuesdays, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM, Class starts Oct 8th and continues for six weeks (No Class 11/5)


DESCRIPTION

Did you just get a new camera and want to learn how to use it?

Or perhaps you've been playing around in Auto Mode for a while and really want to see what your camera can do?

This course introduces beginners to the creative and technical possibilities of digital photography through classroom lectures, demonstrations, and instructor-led photo shoots.

Topics include camera operation, exposure controls, shutter, aperture, ISO, white balance, depth of field, composition, portraiture and landscape photography.

Students have the opportunity to continue their studies at home with the accompanying course website. The website is packed with slides, links, resources, and practice quizzes that students may view at their own pace to reinforce topics covered during class sessions.



WHAT TO BRING

A digital single lens reflex camera (DSLR) or mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses and manual settings (such as a Sony Alpha, Nikon Z, or Canon R) is required.

Please bring your fully charged camera, the instruction manual, and a notebook with you to your first class.


REGARDING COVID-19

The safety of our participants and instructors is of the utmost priority. As such, all of our workshops are run in accordance with guidelines and standards set forth by governmental agencies on the Federal, State, and County level including the CDC, NYS Dept. of Health, NYS Office of the Governor, and Westchester County Dept. of Health. 

Requirements have recently changed and although participants are no longer required to wear a face mask, it is highly recommended. Class sizes are kept small to promote social distancing. Each room has also been equipped with hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes.

HOW TO REGISTER & REFUND POLICY

This workshop is given in cooperation with Chappaqua Continuing Education. Registration for this workshop is handled through their office. Click the "Register" button below to visit their website and complete your registration. Chappaqua Continuing Education's refund policy is as follows. Refunds are made ONLY WHEN A CLASS IS CANCELLED OR FILLED. The student assumes the responsibility for any changes due to business or personal affairs. It is possible to transfer to another class if there is an opening. A full refund will be issued if your course is cancelled due to low enrollment or if filled. There are no refunds or credits once a course begins. Students assume full responsibility for choosing the appropriate course level. Please contact the office before you register if you have a question about the level or the material. To cancel a registration, contact the office at least 5 FULL BUSINESS DAYS prior to the class start date. Students will receive a full refund, less a $10 processing fee. No credit will be given for missed classes or if you are unable to attend a rescheduled make-up class. There are no refunds or credits once a course begins.
