DESCRIPTION
Want get more out of your photography? Looking to create photos that will make people say WOW!?
This course delves deeper into the world of digital photography. Explore creative techniques and take your photos to the next level through classroom lectures, demonstrations, and instructor-led photo shoots.
Topics covered include advanced exposure control, histogram, focus point selection, custom white balance, shooting in RAW, compelling composition techniques, going beyond the rule of thirds, posing, storytelling through composition, dynamic natural lighting and light modifiers. Students will find that this course places more emphasis on composing great photos than an introductory class which focuses more on learning photographic technique.
Students have the opportunity to continue their studies at home with the accompanying course website. The website is packed with slides, links, resources, and practice quizzes that students may view at their own pace to reinforce topics covered during class sessions.

REQUIREMENTS
Students must previously have taken Introduction to Digital Photography -OR- have equivalent knowledge, such as being comfortable shooting in Manual Mode and understanding equivalent exposures. A digital single lens reflex camera (DSLR) or mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses and manual settings (such as a Sony Alpha, Nikon Z, or Canon R) is required.

WHAT TO BRING
A digital single lens reflex camera (DSLR) or mirrorless camera (Sony Alpha, Nikon Z, Canon R) with interchangeable lenses and manual settings is required. Please bring your fully charged camera, the instruction manual, and a pen with you.
REGARDING COVID-19
The safety of our participants and instructors is of the utmost priority. As such, all of our workshops are run in accordance with guidelines and standards set forth by governmental agencies on the Federal, State, and County level including the CDC, NYS Dept. of Health, NYS Office of the Governor, and Westchester County Dept. of Health.
Requirements have recently changed and although participants are no longer required to wear a face mask, it is highly recommended. Class sizes are kept small to promote social distancing. Each room has also been equipped with hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes.
HOW TO REGISTER & REFUND POLICY
This workshop is given in cooperation with the Scarsdale Adult School. Registration for this workshop is handled through their office. Click the "Register" button below to visit their website and complete your registration. Their refund policy is as follows:
- If your class is cancelled, we will refund your tuition.
- If you need to cancel, you must request a refund at least 7 business days prior to the first class meeting. A $15 processing fee will be deducted from any such refund.
- If your class has a waiting list, no refunds will be issued regardless of the timing of request.
- Transferring to another class is considered a cancellation and will incur a $15 fee.
- No discounts will be given for missed classes.
- No partial refunds or credits will be given for any reason.
- Students assume full responsibility for choosing the appropriate course level.
